Font Notes:
There are three fonts in Carballeda de Avia: 1)the font in use, probably from the 18th century, with its cover [font not listed on account of its modernity]; 2)a font consisting of a roughly hemispherical basin decorated with an inscribed Greek cross and a moulding, raised on a square pedestal base with chamfered corners, and a squat square lower base or plinth; no cover; 3)a font outside, in the Plaza del Párroco Quiroga, consisting of a square basin with a rounded underbowl, raised on a short square pedestal base; badly weathered; no cover. The present church is 18th-century, but the two earlier fonts do not belong in that period; are they originally from elsewhere?
