The entry for this church in InfoBretagne [www.infobretagne.com/saint-thegonnec.htm] [accessed 5 October 2019] notes: "Les fonts baptismaux qui se trouvaient auparavant sous la dernière arcade du côté nord furent transportés avec leur clôture en 1670 dans la chapelle du côté sud, où ils sont encore actuellement. En 1721, les comptables payèrent à Jean Fily, tailleur de pierre, demeurant au bourg, la somme de 33 livres pour avoir fait le grand « bénitier et bassin de pierre de grains pour tenir l'eau bénite pour toutes les saisons de l'année ». Il se trouve aujourd'hui derrière les fonts baptismaux." The stoup mentioned above and one other, wall-mounted and dated 1599, are the only ones we were able to locate. The object now used as stoup, a large granite hemispheric basin with a running inscription on its side may have actually been a baptismal font, later replaced by te in the large canopy now.
