No individual entry found for Kirkbymoorside in the Domesday survey. The entry for this parish in the Victoria County History (Yorn North Riding, vol. 1, 1914) notes: "The church of Kirkby Moorside was offered by Roger de Mowbray to the Abbot of Byland in the 12th century [...] The eastern portion of the south wall of the chancel is apparently of the 12th century and contains one original window in situ"; it mentions no font in it. The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SE6974686613] notes: "Church. C13 nave and arcades; C14 and C15 aisles and porch; tower partly rebuilt in C18; chancel rebuilt, and additions and restoration 1874 by Sir G G Scott"; no font mentioned in this entry. The modern font is modern, dated on the lower base side. [NB: the RC Church of St Chad is modern, of the late 19th century].
