No individual entry for Kledholme found in the Domesday survey. The entry for this Cistercian priory in the Victoria County History (York, vol. 3, 1974) notes: "The small nunnery of St. Mary of Keldholme in the parish of Kirkby Moorside was founded by Robert de Stuteville in the reign of Henry I. [r. 1100-1135] [...] The foundation charter is not extant, but there are two charters of confirmation, granted by King John in the second year of his reign, printed in the Monasticon"; the VCH entry mentions a "conventual church" here in relation to a disciplinary process that took plave in the early-14th century. The priory here was dissolved: "The royal commissioners visited Keldholme on 8 June 1535, and the house was suppressed on 5 or 7 August following", but no information is given in this source as to the remains.
