The entry for this church in the Patrimonio arquitectónico site of the municipality [https://moeche.gal/moeche/patrimonio/patrimonio-arquitectonico/] [accessed 16 September 2019] informs: "A época da súa construción no é coñecida pero no seu interior hai unha lápida de toelo do ano 1099", a plaque belonging perhaps to the original church here. Basilio Cegarra's Guía e rutas da arte: À Coruña (Vigo: Galaxia, 1999: 19) describes this church as retaining medieval and 16thC elements. [NB: we have no information on the baptismal font of the original church here; the church was renovated in the 19th century].
