An article on the restoration of this church in Laguna al dia [www.lagunaaldia.com/la-iglesia-de-ntra-sra-de-la-asuncion-recupera-su-esplendor-gracias-a-un-importante-lavado-de-cara/] [accessed 26 August 2019] mentions the restoration of a side chapel with a font in it: "una pequeña capilla, con una pila bautismal, donde se conserva un retablo con la imagen de San Pedro Regalado". The accompanying illustration shows a partial view of a stone font, an old bucket-shaped basin with a single moulding at the upper rim; could this be the font of the original Romanesque church demolished in the 16th century and replaced by a new church on the same site? Acording to a local source, the font, located now in a southwest corner chapel, has been moved at least twice within the church. The nearby rural chapel known as Ermita de Nuestra Señora del Villar has local claims to be originally of the 12th century, although the oldest part of the present building is actually of the 16th century; we have no information on whether or not it ever had a font.
