Scene Description: obviously the small basin insert is the 'acrive' part of this font in baptisms -- notice the two metal staples from an old cover locking hardware in the upper rim of the original basin

Is this the item described in Castillo López (1987 c1972) as a baptismal font of the 15th century? A late hemispherical basin decorated with a double roll moulding at the upper end, followed down by an inticate decoration of foliage arranged in scalloped pattern; roll moulding below; short round There appears to have been an alteration made to the original font: an insert of stone with internal divisions in the modern fashion for chrismon, salt, etc., that now stands inside the basin of the original late-medieval font. The original font still has two metal staples at opposite ends in the upper rim from an old cover, but there is no cover present now.
