Scene Description: note the drain hole towards the bottom of the front side, perhaps an indication that it either was used as a planter at some point or, quite possibly, it was made as one and later became a font, as this design is very rare in Galicia

The object now used as baptismal font inside this church is of a design not at all common in this area of Spain, or even in the whole Peninsula; it looks rather like a planter turned into font, outer drain and all. It is an oval-shaped tub of granite devoid of decoration; it has a drain hole in the front side, close to the bottom, a strong indication of its use as planter. No cover present.
