The entry for Inventory number: U 1931/2.28 of the collections in the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden describes this object as "Romaanse sculptuur van basalt, voorstellende een mannenkop, waarschijnlijk van doopvont.. Zeer primitieve vorm. Finding place: Nederland, onbekend". Aanvulling aan de bodem, oude verlijming"the material is identified as basalt, measuring 21.7 x 17.2 x 8.4 cm.; the date is conservatively given as "1000-1200 AD" [https://www.rmo.nl/en/collection/search-collection/collection-piece/?object=U 1931/2.28] [accessed 29 April 2019]
