The roughly square object is decorated with human heads protruding at the angles; the heads are all male, bearded and with long moustaches; their long hear is tied and curves around the back towards the nearest head forming a sort of garland on the sides; one of the visible sides in our source shows a Greek tréflée cross in a circle; above the Greek cross the rim of the basin is damaged, with the sort of damage that suggests the presence of a metal anchoring for a lock [does this mean that the object was used as a font t some foint?]; the corresponding side on the other visible side is blank. No cover present.
