There are thirteen entries for Lincoln [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/SK9771/lincoln/] [accessed 6 May 2019], five of which report a church in them. The entry for this Benedictine priory in the Victoria County History (Lincoln, vol. 2, 1906) notes that it "was probably founded some time during the reign of Henry II [i.e., 1154-1189] [...] as a cell of St. Mary's Abbey at York; it was suppressed at the time of the Dissolution. There is a ruin in the location, known as Monks' Abbey, but nothing remains of the priory church.
