The Victoria County History (Lincoln, vol. 2, 1906) writes "built by St. Botolph at Ikanho, probably somewhere near the town of Boston. The English Chronicle dates the foundation in the year 654.[...] The monastery continued probably until the devastation of this part of the country by the Danes, near the end of the ninth century. It was never rebuilt." Allen's History of the county of Lincoln [...] (Licoln, 1834) places Ikanho, aka IKanhoe, near Lincoln. [NB; we have no information on the font of the monastery church here]
