The 'free chapel' at Shaw, now known as Holy Trinity, is said to have been called anciently St. Patrick's Chapel-on-the-Moor [..] Its origin is unknown, and the ornaments found there in 1552 show it to have been but poorly furnished. [...] The chapel was rebuilt in 1739 and enlarged in 1798, [...] and again rebuilt in 1870"; no font mentioned. The present font in the modern re-building of the old chapel is modern [NB: we have no information on the font of the earlier church here].
