One of two baptismal fonts in this church; this appears to be no longer in use; this one consists of a roughly hemispherical basin that is totally plain; it bears a scar in the upper rim, quite likely of an anchoring point for an old cover; raised on a short round pedestal base that could be a modern replacement. We have not been able to get any information on this font, but could well be the predecessor of the 1660 font in use now [cf. Index entry for Syke No. 2] but perhaps not the font of the original 1032 church here.
