There is an entry for Walmsgate [variant speliing] in the Dmesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/TF3677/walmsgate/] [accessed 7 January 2019] but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of 1870-1872 reports there was no church in this parish by that time. The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: TF3620477449] notes: "Ruined church. Square limestone rubble. 3 courses only of nave walls and the chancel foundations now survive." The LINCS To The Past site [www.lincstothepast.com/DESERTED-VILLAGE--SITE-OF--AT-WALMSGATE/227208.record?pt=S] [accessed 7 January 2019] reports that the village of Walmsgate is documented in 1377, a priest there was "last instituted about 1435 and that "the small church was still standing in the early 17th century. [...] The remains of a ruinous church at Walmsgate. The building was constructed of square limestone rubble, although only three courses of the nave walls and chancel foundations now survive."
