There are ten entries for [Market, Middle and West] Rasen in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/TF1089/market-middle-and-west-rasen/] [accessed 25 December 2018]; one of the ten, in the lordship of Wadard and chief tenancy of Odo, bishop of Bayeux, in 1086, reports "1 church. 0.12 church lands" in it" [NB: these ten survey entries refer to the different -Market, Middle and West- Rasens as "In Rasa" or "In Rase" or "In altera Rase" witout individual identification]. Pevsner, Harris and Antram (1989) note a modern font of 1963 by Lawrence Bond in this church. The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: TF1065089227] notes: "12C, 14C and 15C with 19C alterations. [...] Late Norman south doorway with thin shafts and 3 rolls in the round arch, sheltered by deep gabled porch. Nave and chancel c. 1300 with Perpendicular west doorway and east window. Tower c. 1405. All heavily restored in 1862 by the Diocesan Architect James Fowler." [NB: we have no information on the font of the original 12th-century church here].
