The Dutch Wikipedia entry for this church [https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hervormde_kerk_(Loga)] [accessed 3 October 2023] describes the medieval font in it as the oldest object in the church, a Romanesque baptismal font made of Bentheim sandstone; it notes that it altered by removing some of the ornaments characteristics of many of the Bentheim fonts, and the pedestal with the lion figures; it further notes that this font had been replaced in the 19th century by a smaller font and that the old one was relegated to the outside, in front of the church; later, in the first half of the 20th century, the medieval font had been re-purposed as a cooling vat in the forge, until it was re-discovered after WWII and restored to the church ["Het oudste voorwerp in de kerk is het romaanse doopvont van Bentheimer zandsteen. Het doopvont werd ontdaan van de ornamenten en het voetstuk met de leeuwengestalten. In de 19e eeuw verving men het doopvont door een kleiner doopvont en bracht men het oude doopvont naar buiten waar het een plaats kreeg voor de kerk. Later, in de eerste helft van de 20e eeuw, diende het romaanse doopvont als koelbekken van een smidse totdat het na de Tweede Wereldoorlog werd herontdekt en opnieuw naar de kerk werd overgebracht."] The entry in the German Wikipedia https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Große_Kirche_(Leer)] [accessed 3 October 2023] describes the font as a Bentheim, probably from the earlier church[ it gives Kroesen, Steensma: Kirchen in Ostfriesland. 2011, S. 217, 220. as reference]. Not listed in Drake (2002). The baptismal font now [cf. supra] consists of a roughly cylindrical basin decorated with only a broad flat moulding around the upper basin side, a simple roll moulding at the bottom end; raised on a broad cylindrical pedestal base and a square lower base. No cover present but, as is common in northern churches, it has a metal baptismal dish on it.
