There is an entry for Flockton [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SE2314/flockton/] [accessed 8 November 2018] but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SE2401714926] and in Harman & Pevsner (2017) note the re-building of 1869 but mention no font in it. The Forebears site [https://forebears.co.uk/birth?pid=10800] [accessed 8 November 2018] shows baptismal records for Flockton going as far back as 1717, but we have no information of the date of the earlier church here, a chapelry, in the parish of Thornhill. The present font in this church is modern; it consists of an octagonal basin on an octagonal pedestal base.
