Font Notes:
There is an entry for Crigglestone [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SE3116/crigglestone/] [accessed 1 November 2018]; it reports three priests and two churches in it. [NB: several of the references to a church in Crigglestone, including the one in Historic England [Listing NGR: SE3198015843], actually describe the present Church of St James at Chapelthorpe [cf. Index entry] -- the only church in Crigglestone now is the former Baptist church of 1824, now under the agis of Wakefield -- it is possible that the two churches reported in the Domesday entry were one at Chapelthorpe [or was it Orberie?] and the other at Crigglestone].
