Nesvig (2018) informs on how Diego Pérez Gordillo y Negrón, "a cathedral dignatary, a parish priest, and the appointed strongman of Bishop Vasco de Quiroga [...] proceeded to demolish the baptismal font of the Franciscan monastery in Pátzcuaro"; the date of the sacking of the monastery is given in Nesvig (ibid.) as 16 June 1560.
