There is an netry for Chineham in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SU6453/chineham/] [accessed 16 August 2018] but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. The entry for the parish of Monk Sherborne in the Victoria County History (Hampshire, vol. 4, 1911) notes: "In the 13 th century there was also a church at Chineham" [NB: the VCH entry is footnoted: "Pope Nich. Tax. (Rec. Com.), 212; Inq. Non. 125; V.C.H. Hants, ii, 227; Wykeham's Reg. (Hants Rec. Soc.)."] NB: the "little wooden church" to which some local sources refer to, and that was replaced by the present Christ Church in 1987, was not the medieval church, long disappeared by then.
