Described and illustrated in Fåhraeus (1974: 51, 53, 54, 116, 122, 189) as a cylindrical mounted baptismal font of the mid-13th century -much like the ones at Elinghem, Lummelunda, Lye, etc.- on a conical pedestal. A baptismal font apparently of a common 13th-century design was found on our May 2018 visit at the west end of the nave; the round basin is cylindrical with a tall chamfer, both plain; the inside well of the basin has a centre drain that is now blocked; it is raised in a conical pedestal base with a single roll moulding at its centre; on a modern circular plinth. No cover present. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 910506F1] as a 'ciborietyp' baptismal font made of limestone in the mid-13th century; the SHM entry points out the there is a faint marbling still visible on the outer surface, and that the shaft of the stem is unusually short, which may mean it was originally taller. On-site notes: the SHM entry indicates there is no drain in this font, but we thought it looked as if there had been one there originally but is now blocked. [cf. BSI entries for Hejnum No. 1 & 2 for the other fonts in this church].
