A fragment of a Purbeck marble font is reported in this church in Kent Archaeology [https://www.kentarchaeology.org.uk/01/03/MIT.htm] [accessed 14 February 2023]: "A fragment of the square bowl of a 12th century Purbeck Marble font lies on the south aisle floor." The same source reports also on the main font here: "The font was brought from Holy Cross, Canterbury, in 1974 (and font cover)." The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: TR3109164255] mentions the 15thC font but not the earlier fragment. The fragment is noted by David Ross in Britain Express [https://www.britainexpress.com/counties/kent/churches/minster.htm] [accessed 11 May 2018] notes: "At the west end is a 12th century Norman font". Noted in Leach (1975) as the surviving fragment of a font made of Purbeck marble: "part of a bowl only" [source given: Francis Grayling's Country Churches, Kent, 1913].
