Listed in Grabinski's Taufbecken (Fünten) aus Metallguss (Bronze, Messing, Blei, Zinn) [www.grabinski-online.de/glocken/Fuenten.html] [accessed 27 April 2018] as a baptismal font made of bronze in 1470. The font consists of a roughly bucket-shaped basin decorated with a large number of scenes, symbols and motifs, some inscribed in medallions, like the symbols of the four Evangelists, some in buildings, etc.; also on the sides are a number of Apostles, Peter and Paul recognisable by their symbols; on the upper basin side are two 'handles', one set verically, the other horizontally, anchoring points for the original cover lock; three human figures, set at 120-degree angles, support the basin; the figures appear to be male, bearded and dressed in civilian clothes. No cover present but the top of the font has a platform for the baptismal dish in use now.
