Baptismal font made of bronze in the bell foundry of master H[e]inrich Klinghe of Bremen in 1473, as an inscription on the font attests; it consists of a bucket-shaped basin raised on three standing figures; the figures appear to be nondescript clerics each holding a book; the have been mounted on a wooden block, probably for reinforcement purposes; on the basin sides is an arcade of pointed crocketed arches on stylised columns with capitals and bases; a scene of the Baptism of Christ in the Jordan with John the Baptist and an angel holding garments occupies three of the arches, and the corresponding columns are not present in this case; each of the other arches is occupied by a single standing figure; to the left of the Baptism of Christ scene is St. Lawrence, holding his griddle and a palm branch; other figures appear to be the Twelve Apostles with their symbols; around the upper rim side is an inscription, and there is another one around the lower end of the basin side, the latter with the date of the font and the name of the maker. The font cover [is it wood?] is a low dome with a Latin-cross finial; it has incised motifs all around; much later than the font; the font has two original anchoring points in the shape of a human head, which would accommodate a flat cover with a through rod lock.
