The present font is said to have been made in 1652 from bells destroyed in the Thirty Years' War, the imagery one in the post-Reformation style. The basin of the bronze baptismal font here looks very much like an inverted bell, raised on four standing figures at the feet of which are the symbols of the four Evangelists; at the top of the base figures is an inscription with hame of each of the Evangelist; the basin itself is decorated with a rope moulding right below the upper rim; below this moulding is a long inscription in four bands; the fifth band has a vine bearing fruit and housing several cherub heads; in the middle is a larger band in the middle that has the Apostles in an arcade the arch-heads of which are crossing palm leaves; there is a running inscription on the lower band of the basin sides; the names of each figure is inscribed below it in capital letters. below the arcade are a number of cherub heads, below which are two bands of floral and foliage motifs; three grooves separate that from yet another band, this one with an inscription in capital letters; the lowest band has a folaige pattern on it. No cover present. [NB: we have no information on the fnt of the original ca-1194 church here].
