Scene Description: the Baroque facade pre-1901 -- Source caption: "situada junto al camino público entre el Burgo de Pamplona, Baraniain y Acella, y que esta casa era la iglesia de San Juan de la Cadena, cerca de la puerta más occidental de Pamplona (1). También al ocaso, contigua á la muralla que rodeaba el Burgo y sobre el campo de la Taconera, se levantaba la iglesia parroquial de San Lorenzo, en el sitio mismo en que la vemos hoy unida con la capilla de San Fermín. Ahí tienes su actual fachada. De seguro no dirías, al primer aspecto de esa portada corintia, que semejante edificio pudo existir en el siglo xiii; peroo bserva bien la estructura de ese hastial, y al punto te hablarán de su antigüedad venerable su carcomido sillarejo, la alta clara-boya circular, tan característica (que por desgracia ha quedado fuera del cono visual del fotógrafo), y un estribo que, inmediato á un arco cegado, permanece en pié, como un centinela que guarda un campo de batalla sembrado de cadáveres, en el cos-tado de med[...]"
