One of three objects listed in this Index for the church of Sant Pere de Sorpe; the roughly rectangular object consists of two parts, both of stone [limestone?]: the lower part, the basin, is decorated with a pair of passant-gardant lions on the front [long] side; the two narrow sides have single lions which share the haeds of those on the front [NB: we have no information on whether there is any decoration on the loncg back side]; the cover is of the same material and of roughly the same shape as the basin, and has a small trp door at the top through which the tithe oil could be deposited and extracted [NB: on the assumption that such was the use of this object, a 'pica d'oli']. There is also a composite holy-water stoup located by the bottom of the stairs leading to the west gallery; it is of obvious composite nature, an old re-cycled pedestal supporting a shell-shaped basin; both of stone.
