Church Notes: original church said to have been destroyed 850-900; re-built 11th, 17thC -- listed in Mérimée [ref.: PA00079865]: "4e quart 12e siècle ; 13e siècle ; 17e siècle"; and Mérimée [ref.: IA94000209]: "L'église paroissiale Sainte-Colombe possède une nef romane ; le choeur et le clocher datent du 13e siècle ; le cimetière entourait l'église jusqu'en 1860 [...] les fouilles de l'édifice effectuées dans les années 1980 par le service départemental de l'archéologie ont révélé la structuration d'un bâtiment modeste, rectangulaire, correspondant à la surface de la nef actuelle, et construite entre les 10e et 12e siècles [...] la restauration générale de l'église effectuée de 1983 à 1985 a partiellement restitué l'aspect médiéval de l'édifice effaçant ainsi les transformations postérieures".

The entry for this church in the general inventory of 1997 [Mérimée IA94000209] does not mention any baptismal font among the "objets mobiliers" in it; only a holy-water stoup here is listed and illustrated in Palissy [ref.: IM94001032], which notes that although the basin is probably 18th-century, "la colonnette servant de support est peut-être un remploi datant du 13e siècle". NB: we have no information on the font of the 11th-12th century church here].
