The present baptismal font in this church has odd characteristics; it consists of a main basin of octagonal shape decorated with a single roll moulding around the bottom, the sides painted; it is raised on an octagonal pedestal base of a different type of stone that appears modern, and it has also been painted over with zig-zag patterns in various colours; to the side of the main basin has been added an additional basin of smaller size that is raised on a round pedestal base and a round-to-square lower base; this auxiliary basin is totally incongruous with the design of the main one; the double-font appears to be a composite, using an earlier basin and modern additions -or- it could be all modern but damaged when the anchoring for the cover was attempted, perhaps in the major 1830s work done in the church. The wooden font cover is of octagonal pyramidal shape; its latch locks onto an anchoring on the side of the stone basin; it appears that the anchoring famaged the side of the basin at the upper rim. [NB: we have no information on the font(s) of the medieval periods of this church]. There is an early and very interesting cloister fountain or lavabo which could date to the pre-12th-century period of this abbey].
