Font Notes:
There is an entry for Marlborough [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SU1869/marlborough/] [accessed 11 November 2017]; it mentions church lands and a church in it [probably a pre-Conquest church that later became St. Peter's]. The present font in this church is modern and disused, as the church has become redundant, de-consecrated and is now [since 1978] used as a coffee shop and boutique.
