Described and illustrated in Tynell (1913- ) as a baptismal of sandstone in the Munkarpsgruppen with some paint remains on it. Noted and illustrated in Rydbeck (1936) as a font in the same group as assigned by Tynell, in the wider category of 'Palmettefuntarnas Grupp'. Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900624F2] as a 'palmettgruppen' baptsmal font made of sandstone ca. 1200, with remains of multi-coloured paint on it. Baptismal font consisting of a quare tub-shaped basin decorated with a round arch on each side with a single motif in it (star, floral), one with a tiny Agnus Dei, and framed with a double-rope motif framing the sides; the upper basin sides are decorated with trios of palmettes linked via their stems; at least one side of the basin is painted, old paint as it appears; raised on a square moulded base, one side of which has an opening as if to serve as drain. There is no font cover present, nor are there any traces of cover hardware in the upper rim; there is however an indentation at the top, all around the inside of the basin, which suggests a square cover was intended. The wooden piece hanging from the ceiling above the font, as if it were a font cover, may have never been an original font cover, but the sounding board of a pulpit; it is hexagonal in shape, painted and inscribed with the name of the donnor as well as a date [1700?] [cf. ImagesArea].
