Church Notes: late-11th [ca.1072?] or early 12thC church listed in Mérimée [ref.: PA00084529 and IA00026838]: "Edifice roman (fin 11e-début 12e siècle) à nef principale et bas-côté sud, ponctué vers l'ouest par un grand clocher-mur. Le portail sud a été sculpté vers 1150 sous l'influence du maître de Morlaas. Au tympan, le Christ confie leur mission aux apôtres, scène peu commune à cet emplacement. Saint Pierre reçoit les clés, un autre apôtre un phylactère où est supposé transcrit un texte de l'Evangile. Le linteau repose sur deux consoles sculptées de têtes grimaçantes. Les archivoltes comportent cinq moulures en cavet, décorées de feuillages. Le cavet le plus externe abrite des figures grotesques. Un gros tore est agrémenté de deux séries de losanges en creux. Un bandeau lisse et le cavet externe retombent sur des tailloirs dont les chapiteaux sont ornés de scènes. La colonnette externe de gauche est soutenue par une cariatide, emprunt fait aux colonnes médianes des portails de Morlaas et d'Oloron. Ce portail témoigne de la rencontre, dans le sud-ouest de la France, du roman saintongeais et de la sculpture toulousaine du 12e siècle."

Monolithic sandstone baptismal font of the 12th or 13th century listed in Palissy [ref.: IM64001326]: "Trou d'évacuation central [...] Il manque le couvercle de bois (feuillure sur le bord intérieur de la cuve)". No font cover present but staples from old cover at the upper rim of the basin. Palissy has two additional entries for two stone stoups in this church; one 17th-century [ref.: IM64001327] bearing traces of red paint and said locally to be destined for use by the 'cagots', and one 19th-century [ref.: IM64001328] of grey-black veined marble.
