Church Notes: present church consecrated 22 January 1351 by bishops Hemming and Thomas of Växjö (Sweden); destroyed and reconstructed -- NB: the dedcication to St. Catherine appears to be very recent, and perhaps the result of this church being in the Kaarina district, whence it got the name 'Kaarinan kirkko', which may have led to the later dedication
