Font Notes:
The web site Richesses de Somme [www.richesses-en-somme.com/patrimoine-des-églises/fonts-baptismaux/fonts-rustiques/] [accessed 16 July 2017] illustrates an off looking object as the baptismal font at the church of Saint-Apré in Warlus, Somme; it appears to consists of two parts, both of light stone, the lower part appears to be the cylindrical stem and the square lower base of a medieval font, and is decorated with loarge leaves at the angles and a roll moulding at the point where the stem and the lower base meet; the upper volume is is a narrower plain polygonal block; it is raised on a plinth made of bricks; it could be that the orginal basin was damaged at some point and it was re-cut to the present incongruous shape. A flat and plain wooden cover is on the font. [NB: a metal holy-water container ["Seau à eau bénite"] in this church is listed in Mémoire [ref.: APDSF3476]; we have not found a listing for the font here].
