The entry for this church in Eglises de l'Oise [www.eglisesdeloise.com/monument/villers-vermont-eglise-saint-martin/] [accessed 2 July 2017] notes a "cuve baptismale en pierre, très simple, du 12ème siècle". The medieval font is of a common design in this area, a round bain 'suspended' in a square frame, much like the fonts in the Bodmin group and others in Cornwall, for instance; the upper rim has a lower crenellated edge, and a single rosette on each side; water-leaf decoration on the capitals, as indicated in the Palissy entry above; the four outer colonnettes have roll mouldings at both ends; the bases appear to be plain; the large square plinth may be modern. There is a font cover, wooden, flat and plain.
