The entry for this church in Dominique Vermand's Eglises de l'Oise [www.eglisesdeloise.com/monument/la-herelle-eglise-saint-nicolas/] [accessed 25 June 2017] notes: "cuve baptismale en pierre d’exécution très grossière et à la date incertaine (2005)." The medieval stone font is of a common design in this area which suggests a hemispherical basin in a square supporting frame, raised on a plain square base, the upper rim is rounded and may have been altered; the angles of the basin are decorated with half columns. There is no font cover present but evidence of an earlier cover shows in the indentation around the inside of the upper rim and on metal anchors still in the area.
