Church Notes: church built 1491-1495; part of the former monastery is now a museum but the church is still open to the cult
Baptismal font of the late 15th century in the Manuelino style made of jasper; it consists of a roughly hemispherical basin decorated with a pattern of diagonal concave ribs all around, on a round moulded pedestal base; the interior of the basin is divided into two segments by a vertical partition. No cover present. The material of the font is described in Kullberg, Coelho & Prego's "Geological and Cultural Routes of the Arrabida Breccia", STRATI 2013 (2017: 307) as 'Arrabida marble' or 'Arrabida Beccia', a type of jasper (?).
