Baptismal font noted and illustrated in the Ayuntamiento de Móstoles [www.mostoles.es/es/mostoles-turistico/lugares-emblematicos-mostoles-1/pila-bautismal-iglesia-parroquial-senora-asuncion] [accessed 15 April 2017]: "Esta pila debió ser realizada en tiempos de los Reyes Católicos, cuando era arzobispo de Toledo Pedro González de Mendoza (1482-1495), pues en ella se encuentra esculpido el escudo heráldico de dicho cardenal y su linaje familiar. Sin embargo, ya que la pila no aparece en ningún inventario cabe pensar que fue adquirida por la parroquia mostoleña entre la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII y el siglo XIX. Es una obra realizada en mármol gris verdoso ligeramente jaspeado de estilo renacentista, con forma de copa semiesférica. El pie es cilíndrico con sendas molduras aboceladas en los extremos y acanaladuras verticales, a la manera de una columna de orden jónico. La basa es cuadrada." The font, though decorated with the arms of González de Mendoza (1482-1495), as indicated above, appears of a later date.
