The 'sommaire objets mobiliers' for the Chapelle Saint-Jacques in the location Freyte, near Saint-Sulpice-de-Bois [Palissy ref.: IM19001335] [www.culture.gouv.fr/documentation/memoire/HTML/IVR74/IM19001335/index.htm] [accessed 11 April 2017] done in 1985 (?) notes two objects of our interest in it: a baptismal font and a holy-water stoup, the latter reported as a "chapiteau benitier", probably inferring that it is a former capital re-cycled as stoup; their location on the plan of the church interior provided the Palissy entry is: the stoup is located in the nave, north side, by what appears to be the north doorway. The stoup is separately listed in Palissy [ref.: IM19000405]: " bénitier [...] granite : taillé [...] En forme de chapiteau [...] ornement à forme végétale [...] torsades et fleur de lys [...] 14e siècle, 15e siècle (?)"; the same entry suggests it may have been a grain measure later re-cycled as a holy-water stoup ["mesure à grains (?) transformée en bénitier"], though the decoration would be over the top for such a domestic object.
