view of church exterior - west portal - tympanum

The baptismal font here is a baseless round tub, plain but for a small moulding around the upper rim; this area has some damage probably caused by metal staples of an old cover; no cover present now. Michel Vincendeau [www.mesvoyagesenfrance.com/D19/Saint-Chamant.html] [accessed 10 March 2017] illustrates the font and three stone stoups in this church; of the three stoups two appear to be re-cycled objects (the one by the south doorway could be a medieval grain measure); the third stoup has an octagonal basin raised on a pedestal.
