The web site of the municipality [www.stbonnetlenfantier.fr/histoire-de-la-commune/notre-église/] [accessed 9 March 2017] mentions the 9th-century donation of the original churfch to the abbey of Solignac, and the re-building of the church after major repairs in 1776; it further notes that the remains of the old church, particularly its font, a round tank located near the water well in the Dumas property ["Les restes de l’ancienne église, nous les trouvons dans un bac rond en pierre longtemps situé à coté du puits de la maison Dumas : c’était l’ancien baptistère."] [NB: the term 'baptistère' is often used loosely in French for both a baptistery and and a baptismal font, 'fonts baptismaux', but it appears to refer to a font in this case].
