Church Notes: church documented 1222; demolished 1549; present church is 18thC replacement built off site -- Blatch (1995) suggests there may have been a church here since Saxon times, but the earliest reference to it is late-11thC

The present font, noted in Blatch (1995) is made of white marble, a round basin on a baluster pedestal base, probably the original one from the 18th-century re-building of the medieval church [NB: we have no information on the font of the original late-11th century (?) church here].
