Among the directives given in the 'Procès verbal de visite' dated 8 February 1789 [Mérimée ref.: IA00066933] is one referent to the baptismal font: "Seront placés dans l'épaisseur du mur les mêmes fonts baptismaux qui étaient dans la vielle église, son couvercle, égaré par les adjudicataires, sera refait an bois de chêne, avec un cadenas comme l'ancien"; the other directive refers to the holy-water stoup: "il sera fait un 'piédestal' au bénitier"; the plan of the church interior for the new building shows the position of the font at the southwest corner of the nave; a photograph of the interior of the new church taken in 1985 and included in the same dossier [Mérimée ref.: IA00066933] [www.culture.gouv.fr/documentation/memoire/HTML/IVR74/IA00066933/images/IA00066933_025.jpg] [accessed 17 February 2017], shows indeed the font in the said position, and a stoup on a pedestal between the font and the west doorway. The 'Sommaire objets mobiliers' [Palissy ref.: IM19000057] prepared on site by Martine Chavent as part of the 1987 Inventaire Général includes the two items: a 'bénitier' indicated by digit "8" at the north side of the west doorway, and the "fonts baptismaux : cuve en granite encastrée dans le mur" identified as digit "7" on the plan, at the northwest corner of the nave; the 1987 'sommaire' does not include photographs of this part of the church interior, but an image of the holy-water stoup is included in Palissy ref.: IM19000064]: "Cuve circulaire posée sur un pied cylindrique [...] La cuve du bénitier provient vraisemblablement de l'ancienne église paroissiale située à La Roche et désaffectée au 18e siècle ; elle peut être datée du 17e ou 18e siècle ; selon un procès-verbal de visite de l'église en 1789, un pied doit être fait pour le bénitier."
