The object in question is a round tub and bears the date 1689 incised in a rectangle above the drain hole, beneath a short zigzag motif; if this had been originally a font the date does not make sense, since such a type of font would be more likely in the 12th or 13th century; ditto of the side hole; was it perhaps a font originally and later relagated, like many of its type, to a farm or garden use, hence the side drain? Or was it reinstated in a church at the incised date?
