Font Notes:
The summary of furnishings of the Eglise paroissiale Notre-Dame et Saint-Antoine-Ermite gathered in Palissy [IM19001313] as part of the general inventory in 1988 and 2006, includes among other objects, two baptismal fonts; one is a bucket-shaped basin of stone mounted on a pedestal base, standing against a wooden backing and canopy located at the southwest corner of the nave; the whole is dated in the source as ca. 1900; the same summary includes a second font of stone, this one located across the aisle, at the southwest corner of the nave, and it is described simply as "cuve baptismale (ancien saloir?) granite", suggesting a posible identification as a ancient salting vat re-cycled as a font [NB: a font that may be the one described as a salting vat, a roughly square top with curved tapering sides, mounted on a squat pyramidal base is illustrated in www.mesvoyagesenfrance.com/D19/egletons.html [accessed 9 February 2017 -- image download disabled]. Palissy [ref.: IM19000546] lists and illustrates a stone holy-water stoup in this church, made of granite and dated to the 17th or 18th century, as well as a metal holy-water container of modern date. [NB: we have no information on the font of the ca. 1200 church here)
