Listed and illustrated in Palissy [ref.: IM19000323] is what appears to be a holy-water stoup consisting of round, roughly cylindrical basin raised on a re-cycled capital of the 13th century; the listing identifies these two parts as "chapiteau et coffre cinéraire réemployés comme pied et cuve de bénitier". The composite stoup is made up of two originally unrelated objects: a former cinerary urn of roughly cylindrical shapeand a recessed upper opening, now used as basin, and an inverted former capital of the 13th century now used as base; the latter, its sides decorated with foliage motifs, lies now on its square former top, while its original round base is now joined to the basin. [NB: though not stated in the source, the former urn may be of Gallo-Roman ancestry, as are some of the other re-cycled vessels found in the Limousin, Provence, etc.]
