Listed and illustrated in Palissy [ref.: PM19000001] as a former sandstone capital from the old church here ["Ce chapiteau provient de l'église paroissiale d'Albignac partiellement détruite"], hollowed out and re-cycled as holy-water stoup; original object dated 12th-century; no known date when the re-cycling took place. The stoup consists of a basin that is square at the top and rounded at the bottom, the sides decorated with deeply-carved vegetal and fruit motifs, some interlaced, and a roll moulding at the bottom; raised on a square pedestal base that appears to have been also re-cycled from an earlier use, and a square lower base.
