The Voorloopige lijst der Nederlansche Monumenten van Geschiedenis en Kunst, Deel IV, De provincie Gelderland (Utrecht: A. Oosthoek. 1917) reports a sandstone baptismal font (ca. 1300) with arch frieze on the tub, in the garden of the rectory. An object noted in the Voorloopige lijst der Nederlandse Monumenten (vol. X, 1931) as a sandstone font (1300) found in the garden of the presbytery in Gerwen, Noord-Brabant, may be the same as above. The object is now at the Museum Voor Religieuze Kunst, Veghelsedijk 25, 5401 AZ Uden, Netherlands, and it is probably a mortar or grain measure, perhaps used as font or a holy-water stoup at some point. The present font is said to be originally from Amhem. [NB: we have no information on the font of the same period, perhaps destroyed in the 1612 fire].
