The present baptismal font was made by Svend Erichsøn Svanneberg in 1723; it is described by Sigrid Marie Christie and Håkon Christie in Norges Kirker [www.norgeskirker.no/wiki/Tanum_kirke#D.C3.B8pefont] [accessed 2 January 2017]: "Døpefont forært av «madame Sal. Henric Kreftings» 1724. Ant. Utført av Svend Svanneberg (Hauglid: Akantus II, s. 62 og 65). Akantussmykket skål, båret av barnefigur som er avskåret I knehøyde. Skålen marmorert I rødt og blått på oversiden og forgylt på undersiden. Barnefiguren gråblek med forgylt lendeklede. H. 94 cm, diam. 67 cm. Fonten står på ny platting."
